The goal of this project was to build an integrated "boutique" healthcare facility from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Outpatient Care into a senior living community. This "medtail" region is a condensed, targeted service area that future seniors and other community members would require access to for typical outpatient requirements. where general healthcare services, including regular medical care, mental health services, and retail pharmacy, were provided to meet the demands of an elderly population that would eventually exist. We concentrated on discussing age-friendly design decisions and thought about the type of care that would be provided locally as opposed to when a patient would be seen at another location.
